Last night our two daughters and their families flew into the Ft. Myers airport a couple of hours apart. Jen and her group took a taxi out to Sanibel Island where we are all staying in spite of the destruction Hurricane Charlie brought with it last August. Our resort is still under reconstruction, so we are all at a new place to be together, and it isn't as wonderful but it is very fine!!!
Today the sun beamed down from a bright blue sky and the ocean rolled in with a big surf which I ventured into with several of the children amidst screams and giggles and shouts of "Mimi, pick me up, help me over the wave...oooh, it's cold!!"
Later they all rented bicycles and adventured around the bike trails while I grocery shopped and became the proper Mum... making a tasty, hot supper for us....which was followed by a run to the Dairy Queen...now bed for the little ones and rest and reading for the grown-ups. The new moon is shining down and the stars are bright in the vault of the heavens...perfect!!!
